TEACHER'S MESSAGE:
We had a great field trip to the Calgary Humane Society. Ask your child to tell you about: what does SPCA mean (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals); what body language does a cat or dog tell you; how you should pet a dog; what to do if a dog wants to jump up on you; how to get down and protect yourself from an angry dog; what a dog needs; about petting a gecko and a kitten .....
and that the Humane Society cost 10 million dollars to build! AND the last question i want you to ask your child - Did the CHS do it's best to provide the animals with proper: shelter, food/water, air and space?
This we also reviewed what year it was 50 years ago - 1969! We tried break up 50 to subtract from 2019 (2020 is easier). We know that Earl Grey's 50th birthday celebration is coming up soon!
This week we also saw a puppet presentation on Juvenile Arthritis. See pics and website below.
Next week we will review that at school (and anywhere)we cam use the DeBugging System when someone is bothering us or bugging us.
If another person is hurting you in any way, the Debugging System is NOT enough and you NEED to tell an adult right away.
As well, all students should report when they are being bullied - that's when there is an imbalance in power and another person is repeatedly saying or doing hurtful things to you. (at EG, repeatedly refers to 7 days or more). As the teacher, I can't help if I don't know, so please tell me if another student is hurting you.

LANGUAGE ARTS:
We labelled a picture of all the necessities a dog needs. There were 25 items.

MATH:
We are working on Math Fair games/problems and learning how to create different levels of difficulty. We need to work with a partner.

SCIENCE:
We reviewed the difference between domestic and wild animals.

GYM:   We've been working on our frisbee skills and getting ready for Movin' and Munchin' on Friday!
